Job responsibilities

We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Operative-Fabric based at Wembley Centre for Health - Main Building. The starting salary for this role is from £28,000 (dependent on experience) plus on-call allowance. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm. The role covers South West London.

Requirements for the role:
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or higher BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent in carpentry and joinery, or formal apprenticeship/craft trained equivalent.
  • Driving licence is essential.
  • Comfortable using technological devices to log jobs.
  • On-Call availability.
  • Desirable: industry experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all NHSPS health, safety, and wellbeing policies, technical guidance, statutory regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed, maintaining operational standards.
  • Support minor works activities, including routine repairs in joinery, painting, decoration, plumbing, and general building works.
  • Maintain accurate site log books and support minor capital works.
  • Conduct risk assessments and work per instructions within permits or work plans.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience
  • Experience in building maintenance, minor works, and repairs.
  • Experience working with method statements or permit to work.
  • Experience maintaining services to SFG20 standards.
