Job description

Job Opportunity: Maintenance Operative - Fabric

We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Operative-Fabric. This role is based in Mitcham - Wilson Hospital.

Salary: From £28,000 (depending on experience) plus on-call allowance.

Position Details: Permanent, full-time, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Location: Mobile role covering South West London.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or higher BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent in carpentry and joinery; or formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.
  • Driving licence is essential.
  • Comfortable using technological devices to log jobs.
  • On-Call availability.
  • Industry experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other technical disciplines.

Additional Notes: DBS Checks & DVLA checks are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with NHSPS health, safety, and wellbeing policies, technical guidance, procedures, regulations, and standards.
  • Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed, maintaining operational standards.
  • Support minor works activities and undertake routine repairs including joinery, painting, decoration, plumbing, and general building works.
  • Maintain accurate site log books at NHS premises.
  • Assist in delivering minor capital works projects.
  • Perform risk assessments and work within relevant permits and work plans.
  • On-Call allowance (rota dependent).
  • Company van and tools provided.
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Access to a pension plan with company contributions up to 6%, and training/development opportunities.
