Job summary

CAV Systems Ltd. currently seeks a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team in the United Kingdom.

The role supports the Maintenance Technician in carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks ensuring machinery, buildings, facilities and equipment stay safe, functional and efficient. Key duties include routine maintenance on machines, buildings and equipment, regular inspections, basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry work, and helping with planned preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• Time-served mechanical background or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating trades.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Excellent problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and manage own workload.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are now recruiting for a new role of Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the Maintenance Technician in carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure machinery, buildings, facilities and equipment are kept in safe, functional and efficient working order.

The Maintenance Operative’s responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine maintenance and repairs on machines, buildings and equipment
• Conducting regular inspections to identify and address mechanical and maintenance issues
• Carrying out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks
• Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to
• Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Liaising with contractors and suppliers

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

• A time served mechanical background
• Knowledge of multiple trades (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating), including the ability to work with various materials including wood and metal
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Ability to work with limited supervision and manage own workload
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
