Job summary

CAV Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in the UK. The role focuses on optimising production processes, implementing new equipment and fixtures, and managing capital projects within budget and timescales.

You will apply LEAN methods, work with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality frameworks, and potentially programme robots. Strong data analysis and CAD skills are essential to drive continuous improvements across aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification – HNC or HND in an engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of manual and automated manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with quality systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001 or equivalent.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem solving and prioritisation skills.
• Ideally experienced in robot programming.
• Ability to use software and methodologies including MINITAB, 8D or similar to analyse data.
• Experience of 2D and 3D CAD modelling software.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering in a similar industry.
• Analytical and IT skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships.

Responsibilities

• Improvement and optimisation of existing production processes to reduce costs, improve quality and expand existing capabilities using LEAN methodologies.
• Identify, develop and implement new manufacturing equipment, machinery, jigs and fixtures to achieve process or safety improvements.
• Continuous identification of production risks, mitigation actions and contingency plans.
• Project management of capital projects with delivery to agreed budget and timescales.
