Here at MJ Quinn, we are looking to recruit a Maintenance Operations Supervisor for their exciting and growing organisation.

About the role

The successful candidate will oversee a team of Engineers, including Electricians, Plumbers, Gas Engineers, and Joiners, ensuring they are trained and guided. You should be a committed individual who is strong-minded, with a passion for developing your own skills and those of others. If you are an electrically or mechanically minded professional with extensive leadership experience in service delivery within the Facilities Management sector, apply now for an immediate response.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing skills and performance of all technicians.
  • Auditing technicians’ work practices, ethics, customer skills, and communication.
  • Developing individual training plans based on development needs.
  • Conducting site-based audits within a defined region.
  • Checking PPE, plant, equipment, vehicles, and stock.
  • Auditing company and customer documentation.
  • Maintaining communication across multiple office locations.
  • Providing regional office-based assistance as needed.
  • Assisting with estimates when required.
  • Providing technical support for customer and site escalations.
  • Attending training sessions and cascading content to technicians (Train the Trainer qualification is beneficial).
  • Researching and proposing additional training to add value.
  • Reviewing technician performance and focus areas.
  • Providing IT support and training related to tablet applications, mobile solutions, and customer interfaces.
  • Planning and managing overtime, call-out rota, and leave to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Experience required:

  • Experience in training, supporting, and mentoring technicians.
  • Experience managing engineers within Facilities Management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing engineers.
  • Trade experience in Gas, Electrical, or Air Conditioning is advantageous.
  • Positive, professional attitude with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • A full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points and no bans in the last 12 months.
