Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering function at Kings Lynn, driving reliability and continuous improvement across site equipment and facilities.

You will work with the Site Engineering Manager to transition from reactive to planned maintenance, develop a high-performing team, and ensure safe, cost-effective operation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a management or supervisory engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) systems.
• Understanding of engineering compliance, permits to work, safe systems of work and HSE requirements.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets and engineering resources.
• Strong people management, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Leading, coaching and developing a multi-skilled engineering team.
• Driving site performance through improved uptime, efficiency and asset reliability.
• Managing engineering budgets, labour costs and departmental KPIs.
• Ensuring effective preventative maintenance programmes are delivered through SAP.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve performance.
• Managing engineering projects, contractor control and statutory compliance activities.
• Maintaining audit-ready standards across safety, hygiene, quality and engineering compliance.
• Developing succession plans and ensuring team capability through training and mentoring.
• Collaborating closely with Production, Planning and Technical teams to achieve site objectives.
• Ensuring maintenance records, SOPs and risk assessments remain current and compliant.
