Staffbase Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Manager on behalf of a client in the UK. The role oversees all maintenance activities, CAPEX projects and a small team of engineers and contractors at a large heavy industry plant near Merton.

You will have at least 5 years of management experience in manufacturing, hold an electrical engineering qualification (HNC/degree or 18th edition), and be proficient with PLC systems. A IOSH/NEBOSH qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of management/supervisory experience in manufacturing/industrial sectors.
• Qualified in electrical engineering (HNC/degree or 18th edition) with health & safety training (IOSH/NEBOSH preferred).
• Experience leading a small team and coordinating external contractors.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems and electrical/mechanical plant maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance and CAPEX projects.
• Develop and maintain CMMS; manage budget and spare parts supply.
• Lead staff, recruitment, and training; ensure HSE compliance.

Job description

Our client is a very successful manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Maintenance Manager.

Salary £65K - £70K Neg + Bonus

We are seeking an experienced electrical bias maintenance engineer to manage & control all maintenance and CAP-ex project activities at a large heavy industry processing plant near Merton.

The Role:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all planned & reactive maintenance activities and some CAPEX project work. Your duties will include but is not limited to the following:

• Maintain and develop the existing CMMS
• Management & control of a small team of maintenance engineers and also external contractors
• Plan, manage and control all maintenance activities and engineering projects
• Effective Budget and CAPEX Project management
• Monitoring, sourcing and ordering spare and replacement parts
• Ensure adequate staff training, recruitment and disciplinary needs are met
• Adopt a continuous improvement approach and help to deliver efficiency and cost savings where possible
• Ensure compliance with all legal and HSE requirements
• Provide "Hands-on" assistance with electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance and repair of plant and machinery.

Candidate:

• You will be an experienced electrical maintenance supervisor / manager with previous experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector e.g. chemical plants, plastics, metals, quarry or recycling.
• You will have at least 5 years management /supervisory experience and you must me confident in leading a small team of engineers and external contractors.
• You will hold recognised electrical engineering qualification and ideally you will be trained in health & safety management to IOSH or NEBOSH level.
• You will have a recognised qualification in electrical engineering e.g. HNC, degree or 18th edition certification and you will have good knowledge and understanding of plc systems.
• We are seeking a highly organised and effective leader who will maintain a visible presence around the plant.
