Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

We are offering a full-time, permanent position to lead our in-house maintenance team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that reactive and planned maintenance tasks are efficiently managed over a 7-day period, maintaining the hotel’s presentation and facilities in excellent condition.

You will be supported by a Grounds Team of 2 members and additional team members from within the Alexander Hotel Group as needed. Your duties will include:

1. Scheduling daily tasks and delegating responsibilities to support the team in meeting maintenance demands.
2. Completing general maintenance tasks from the daily list, ensuring priority issues are addressed promptly.
3. Liaising with and overseeing external contractors when on site.
4. Performing tasks related to boiler room maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry/joinery, painting, and decorating. While we seek a multi-skilled individual, we do not expect expertise in all trades.
5. Working 5 days out of 7, including some weekend shifts, between 7 am and 6:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing a wide range of maintenance tasks within a customer-facing setting.
• Experience in general maintenance, preferably within a guest or customer environment.
• Specialized experience in either plumbing or electrical work.
• Availability to be on call for emergencies; residence within 30 minutes of the hotel is required.
• Proven success in prioritizing and resolving various property maintenance issues.
