Job description

Cheval Collection is currently recruiting a Maintenance Manager to join our management team at our luxury serviced apartments in Edinburgh, including Cheval The Edinburgh Grand, Cheval Old Town Chambers, and Cheval Abbey Strand Apartments.

Role Overview

As Maintenance Manager for these three properties, you will be a technical expert and a strong team leader, ensuring the properties are maintained to an excellent standard and remain compliant.

Reporting and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee proactive and reactive maintenance, manage a small team, coordinate PPM schedules, ensure health, safety, and compliance, and collaborate with other department managers to uphold company standards.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical services.
  • Proficiency with building management systems and other IT systems related to maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Experience in managing multisite operations is advantageous.
  • Understanding of a luxury hospitality environment is preferable.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Contractor Management: Supervise contractors, manage site access, ensure adherence to safety policies, review RAMS, issue permits, and oversee work completion.
  2. Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, adhere to schedules, and follow manufacturer recommendations.
  3. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, conduct reviews, coordinate emergency procedures, and manage audits.
  4. Budget & Procurement: Manage maintenance budgets, seek value-for-money, and assist with budgeting processes.
Candidate Profile
  • Management experience in a 4/5-star or luxury environment.
  • Leadership and development of maintenance teams.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of health & safety legislation and water management.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
