Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Maintenance role at managerial level.
  • Experience in one or more building trades and first-level fault finding.

A day in the life of…

As Chief Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering a consistently excellent guest experience by ensuring that the hotel operates to the highest possible standards. Taking initiative and leading by example, you will manage all aspects of proactive and reactive maintenance, coordinate with external contractors, and support hotel teams in line with the departmental budget and operational goals.

You’ll take ownership of compliance, safety, and preventative maintenance plans while working closely with Heads of Department to ensure all team members are trained in the correct use of equipment and understand health and safety responsibilities across the hotel. Your leadership will ensure that the physical environment of the hotel remains safe, functional, and welcoming for guests and staff alike.

You will also champion sustainability initiatives and act as the hotel’s Energy Champion, driving engagement in environmental and energy-saving programmes in line with brand standards and company policies.

What do we need from you?

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Maintenance role at managerial level

  • Experience in one or more building trades and first-level fault finding

  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills

  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving

  • The ability to manage contractors and service providers effectively

  • Commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability practices
