Job summary

Partnership Recruiting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client in East Lothian. The role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, fault-finding ability, and the ability to work on shift within a safety‑focused maintenance team.

• Fully qualified mechanical fitter (relevant certification essential).
• Experience in heavy mechanical or industrial environments.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, cross-functional collaboration.
• Comfortable using maintenance-related IT systems and tools.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime and support production continuity.
• Diagnose faults, repair and replace defective mechanical components.
• Record maintenance activities accurately using internal IT systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and support overhauls during scheduled downtime periods.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance team meetings.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures, including work permits.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to support business objectives.
• Engage in special engineering projects or upgrades as required.
