Job summary

Probe UK is recruiting a permanent Maintenance Fitter for a market-leading manufacturing facility with over 100 years in operation. You will join a well-structured maintenance team with the tools and backing to perform at your best.

Role requires Level 3 Mechanical Maintenance and experience with heavy plant/machinery; flexible to work 12-hour shifts, days and nights. Salary £33,000–£42,000, pension, holidays, life assurance, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 training in Mechanical Maintenance.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing facilities is preferred.
• Experience fixing heavy plant and machinery (quarries, farming machinery, power stations, waste management) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties across the site.
• Providing leadership in maintaining plant production capacity.
• Continuous improvement activities to increase plant reliability.
• Assisting in improving equipment, production efficiency, safety and minimising downtime.

Job description

Following business growth and a lot of investment over the past couple of years, we are looking to recruit a permanent Maintenance Fitter to join a market leading Manufacturing facility with over 100 years in industry.

You’ll become part of a well-structured and supportive maintenance team, with the tools, resources and backing needed to perform at your best.

You must be flexible to work 12-hour shifts / 48 hour working week, covering days and nights. More information on this will be given at interview.

Along with a minimum Level 3 training in Mechanical Maintenance and a previous background within a heavy manufacturing facility. Experience with fixing heavy plant and machinery, for example, quarries, farming machinery, power stations, waste management etc will be beneficial. You will carry out various mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair activities on our production machinery.

Some duties for the Maintenance Fitter role will involve:

• Carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties across the site
• Providing leadership in maintaining plant production capacity
• Continuous improvement activities increasing plant reliability
• Assisting in the continuous improvement of equipment, maximisation of production, efficiency, improving safety and minimising downtime

The role of Maintenance Fitter is commutable from Dumfries, Lockerbie, Annan and Westerkirk.
