Job summary

National Refrigerants Limited in Hinckley, Leicestershire, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to keep plant and site facilities running safely and reliably through proactive maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement.

The role involves hands-on mechanical and electrical fault finding, supporting a second Northampton site during peak periods, and mentoring an apprentice while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Level 3 engineering qualification and relevant post-qualification maintenance experience.
• Proactive, reliable and strong safety awareness.
• Willingness to work across sites and mentor an apprentice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Undertake mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
• Apply electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic fault-finding skills where required.
• Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements.
• Support machinery installation, modification and improvement.
• Maintain engineering spares, tools and equipment.
• Work safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to the Maintenance Apprentice.
• Provide engineering support across both sites when required.
