Job summary

ASC Connections is recruiting a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer for a plastics manufacturer in the UK. The role centres on maximising equipment performance, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvement across a modern production facility.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of equipment, diagnose faults, and support upgrades and improvement projects within a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience in plastic injection moulding manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience maintaining automated production machinery.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive hands-on approach and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to maximise machine uptime.
• Supporting optimisation and continuous improvement of production processes.
• Assisting with equipment upgrades, modifications and improvement projects.
• Working with production teams to address operational issues.
• Contributing to a proactive maintenance culture focused on reliability and performance.
