Job summary

Myton Food Group seeks a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our busy manufacturing site within Morrisons’ network. You will maintain, repair and improve machinery to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency on a 24-hour operation.

This hands-on role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities and a commitment to safety and quality across production lines, conveyors and packaging equipment.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering (or ONC/BTEC 3 as applicable).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in FMCG environments.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
• Proactive approach to maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
• Understanding of HACCP; IEE 18th edition wiring advantageous.
• Excellent communication and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Assertive with quick decision-making and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving issues before disruptions.
• Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose problems, and repair or coordinate with specialists.
• Carry out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production line efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Monitor and calibrate equipment to meet accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify process improvements and provide technical expertise.
• Keep records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and company policies.
• Stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies relevant to the role.
