SourceCo Recruitment Limited is actively seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Shobdon, Herefordshire. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical maintenance, carrying out both planned and reactive tasks to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.

After training, you’ll join an on-call rota with standby payments, plus a comprehensive benefits package including funded training, pension, health support, and life assurance.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification.
• Mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with industrial machinery or production equipment.
• A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing mechanical and/or electrical issues.
• Minimising machinery downtime and improving equipment reliability.
• Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and improvement projects.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Working closely with production and engineering teams.
• Ensuring all work meets health and safety standards.

Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical or Electrical

Location: Shobdon, Herefordshire

Salary: £16.83 – £18.69 per hour + Shift Premium + Overtime

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift: Rotating Days

We're recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Shobdon, Herefordshire.

Working Hours

• Week 1: Monday – Friday, 05:30 – 13:30
• Week 2: Monday – Friday, 09:30 – 17:30
• Weekend working as required (8 or 12-hour shifts)

Following training, you'll also join a 1 in 7 on-call rota, with additional standby payments of £16.51 per night and a minimum of 4 hours' pay for call-outs.
