Job summary

Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd in Swindon is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a globally known manufacturer in the Swindon area. The role offers long-term progression and covers rotating days and nights with salary £50,000–£60,000 and benefits.

You will conduct planned and reactive maintenance on production and facility equipment, troubleshoot using root cause analysis, and support improvement projects while maintaining GMP documentation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualification in mechanical, electrical or automation engineering.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
• Knowledge of GMP standards and clean room protocols.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using root cause analysis and lean tools.
• Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain GMP-compliant documentation and follow change control procedures.
• Collaborate with teams and coordinate contractor activities, including permits and orders.
• Work within cleanroom environments, adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical training and support to colleagues; cover team roles when needed.
