Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a site-based maintenance engineer to deliver PPM and reactive maintenance across client buildings. You will inspect, diagnose faults and repair electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance while delivering high service levels.

Role requires electrical qualifications and experience with building services, BMS, and CAFM systems, with a proactive, customer-focused approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship in electrical installation, maintenance, or building services engineering.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent).
• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Qualification (2365, 2330, or equivalent).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
• C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing (desirable).
• Proven experience maintaining electrical systems within critical laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the operation and performance of critical building services systems.
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on electrical systems.
• Diagnose and rectify plant faults promptly to maintain operational continuity.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and CAFM/helpdesk updates on site.
• Ensure statutory compliance records, health & safety documents, and QA records are current.
• Supervise, escort, and monitor specialist subcontractors on site.
• Operate within Permit to Work and follow QHSE procedures.
• Support quality inspections and continuous improvement activities.
• Monitor building conditions via the BMS and optimise performance and occupant comfort.
• Develop strong client relationships and maintain a professional image.
