Job summary

CV Consulting Ltd is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join a busy manufacturing site. The role is commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable, Buckingham, Hemel Hempstead and Bedford.

You will maintain and improve plant equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation and minimal downtime. The 3-shift pattern runs Monday to Friday with no weekends during Christmas week.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical fault-finding ability and good mechanical understanding.
• Experience in heavy industry environments (aggregates, mining, quarrying, manufacturing, recycling) or similar.
• Confident in a fast-paced, breakdown-focused environment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance, installation, and fault diagnosis.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Electrical maintenance, fault finding, repair, and overhaul of heavy process and plant machinery.
• Electrical installation, modification, and commissioning of equipment.
• Supporting mechanical strip-down, fitting, and installation tasks as required.
• Working on control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and automation equipment.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and CAD drawings.
• Electrical fault finding on production and process equipment (primary focus).
• Supporting the transition from a reactive breakdown environment to a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) structure.

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable, Buckingham, Hemel Hempstead, and Bedford

Salary: OTE £53,800+ (including shift premium + over time basic £47,000)

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 3-shift system (8-hour shifts)

No weekends - site closed over Christmas week

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Be a multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical fault-finding ability and good mechanical understanding
• Have experience in heavy industry such as aggregates, mining, quarrying, manufacturing, recycling, or similar environments (other backgrounds considered)
• Be confident working in a fast-paced, breakdown-focused environment
• Have hands-on experience with electrical maintenance, installation, and fault diagnosis
• Be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Mechanical fitting experience is advantageous
