Job summary

InPost UK is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to join the Wednesbury Distribution Centre team. You will perform regular inspections and maintenance on conveyors and sortation systems, diagnose faults, and carry out timely repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates hold a Level 3 engineering qualification, with proven mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis and PLC knowledge, plus a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Level 3 engineering qualification (HNC / City & Guilds or equivalent) in engineering.
• Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis experience.
• PLC control systems knowledge (Modicon and Siemens).
• Familiarity with BS:7671 (2382) 17th Edition wiring regulations.
• Experience in industrial/commercial electrical installations.
• Ability to work safely at heights up to 20 metres.
• IOSH safety knowledge.
• Proficiency with drilling and grinding tools.
• Gasless MIG welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on conveyor belts and sortation systems
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out timely repairs
• Replace or repair faulty components, reset systems, and keep equipment running efficiently
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
• Identify and recommend improvements to boost equipment reliability and performance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
• Support and mentor junior technicians and apprentices as needed
