Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting a hands-on Maintenance Engineer for a well‑established manufacturing business in Shaftesbury, Dorset. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown fault‑finding across production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

You’ll work with conveyors, fillers, packers, pumps, motors, sensors and PLCs in a multi‑skilled team. The role offers £51,250-£54,000 + OTE, plus a company bonus, 9% pension, 28 days holiday and

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery.
• Perform reactive maintenance and breakdown fault-finding to minimise downtime.
• Work on a range of equipment including conveyors, fillers, packers, pumps, motors and sensors.
• Diagnose faults on PLCs and control systems and restore equipment quickly.

Job Role

A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Maintenance Engineer has come to the forefront. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on engineer to join an established and successful manufacturing business with a modern, well‑equipped production facility. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown fault‑finding across a range of production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will also have the opportunity to work independently, making this an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys diagnosing faults and getting equipment back up and running. You will be working on a variety of equipment including conveyors, fillers, packers, pumps, separators, cooling equipment, motors, sensors, gearboxes, bearings, chains and valves, as well as PLCs and control systems. The role is genuinely multi‑skilled, with a strong mechanical element to the breakdown work alongside electrical fault finding.

Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer

• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
• Electrical bias within a multi‑skilled maintenance role.
• Experience working within food, dairy or FMCG manufacturing.
• Experience with PLCs, inverters, pneumatics or hydraulics.
