Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in Dorset is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing site in Bournemouth. You will carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance to maximise uptime.

Working in the Operations team, you will support site services and infrastructure, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety standards while contributing to reliability improvements and project work.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding and repairs on production machinery.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in line with maintenance schedules.
• Maintain and repair machinery, factory services and electrical equipment to a high standard.
• Support the installation, inspection and maintenance of site electrical infrastructure.
• Undertake Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities where required.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve machinery reliability and performance.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support general building and facilities maintenance activities as required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer based in Bournemouth, with a reputation for engineering excellence.Working as part of the Operations team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability of production machinery, factory services, and site infrastructure.

The Bournemouth based Maintenance Engineer Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support across a broad range of manufacturing equipment.You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, carry out repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and productivity.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial controls
• Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance activities
• Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify long-term solutions to recurring issues
• HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent engineering qualification
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and equipment reliability

Desirable Skills

• Experience maintaining CNC machinery
• IPAF licence (training can be provided)
