This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected and growing business in a key technical role supporting both production and engineering functions across a busy site.

About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll provide hands-on technical support across the site, ensuring all machinery and systems run efficiently, reliably, and safely. You'll play a vital role in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, supporting project implementation, and promoting continuous improvement in a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) on production equipment, ensuring safety and schedule adherence
  • Complete high-standard repairs to minimise downtime and maximise reliability
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance improvements and update schedules and work instructions accordingly
  • Ensure 100% completion of all equipment safety checks
  • Support production line start-ups, conduct equipment tests, and make adjustments for optimal product quality
  • Engage with engineering systems and ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Participate in training for new equipment and deliver peer-to-peer training to colleagues and operators
  • Contribute to site health & safety standards, implementing improvements where necessary (training provided)
  • Assist in implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques to drive performance
  • Provide support to apprentices and collaborate across departments when needed
  • Support project teams with equipment installations and upgrades

Person Specification

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong electrical skills: fault finding, repair, and installation
  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of various maintenance techniques
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, PLC interaction (not programming), and basic pneumatics
  • Awareness of food hygiene, product integrity, and quality standards within FMCG
  • Working knowledge of CI techniques and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and use tools/test equipment confidently
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and flexible approach
  • A basic understanding of plant equipment (e.g. pumps, compressors) is desirable

Experience & Qualifications

  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment, ideally food or drink manufacturing
  • Solid operational experience in a similar role, including shift-based work

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available)
  • Due to the site’s location, own transport is essential

What’s on Offer

  • Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
  • Benefits: Excellent benefits package including pension, holidays, and development opportunities
  • A secure and stable full-time role within a respected and growing manufacturer
  • Training, upskilling, and involvement in capital projects and CI initiatives
