Job summary

ATA Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a large FMCG retailer in the UK. The role offers a salary of £50,624 with bonus, a 13% pension, holiday allowance, and training plus progression opportunities.

Shift is Panama Days and Nights, with expectations to maintain plant performance and reliability. The successful candidate will have an electrical bias, be hands-on, and hold at least Level 3 in an electrical field.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in an electrical field.
• Willing to work in accordance with food safety and health and safety requirements.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
• Electrical fault-finding and mechanical fault-finding experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of the factory by performing reactive and planned maintenance work.
• Electrical fault-finding and mechanical fault-finding.
• Take ownership of workshop operations, ensuring tools are correctly stored and ordering stock when necessary.
• Fault-finding on electrical and mechanical components; check I/O, read schematics, and verify HMI screens.
• Possess an electrical bias.

The company is investing more than £15 million in facilities and site machinery, including new conveyor systems, and is looking to expand its engineering squad to support ongoing growth.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a large, stable FMCG company. The successful engineer will have opportunities to grow into leadership positions and be recognized for their work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of the factory by performing reactive and planned maintenance work.
• Electrical fault‑finding and mechanical fault‑finding.
• Take ownership of workshop operations, ensuring tools are correctly stored and ordering new stock when necessary.
• Fault‑finding on both the electrical and mechanical components; check I/O’s, read schematics, and verify HMI screens (no programming required).
• Possess an electrical bias.

About you

• Ideally have experience in a fast‑paced environment (not essential).
• Be the subject‑matter expert on any electrical issues on shift and be comfortable working hands‑on.
• Be willing to work in accordance with food safety, health and safety requirements.
• Holder of a minimum Level 3 qualification in an electrical field.
• Show initiative when solving problems.
