Job summary

URM (UK) LIMITED is recruiting a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established, recession-proof plant in the UK. The role covers PPM and reactive maintenance with a mix of days and nights on a Panama shift (2,2,3).

You will work to improve machine performance and support a forward-thinking team. The ideal candidate has Level 3 Engineering qualifications (mechanical or electrical) and solid experience in a manufacturing setting, with strong electrical and mechanical skills and a

Qualifications

• Level 3 Engineering qualification in mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Maintenance and manufacturing experience required.
• Experience with plant equipment and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• PPM & reactive maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Start-up machines and coordinate with production and hygiene teams.
• Adjust machines to optimise performance and reliability.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Communicate machine status across shifts for clear handovers.
• Explore CI methods to improve plant performance.

• Salary is £51,000 to £56,000, and excellent overtime! working Panama shifts - every other weekend you get a LONG WEEKEND

Working within a team you if you must have a strong engineering discipline and will need to be comfortable with both electrical and mechanical skills.

Role and Responsibilities of a Shift Maintenance Engineer

• PPM & Reactive maintenance
• Undertake machine start-up, working closely with the production and hygiene team.
• Machine adjustments to optimise machine performance.
• To undertake fault diagnosis & implement corrective actions to minimise machine downtime.
• To communicate machine status & performance across shift teams to ensure effective handovers.
• Look at CI methods and ways to improve plant performance

Qualifications Required:

• Level 3 Engineering qualification in either mechanical or electrical
• Mechanical Experience/qualifications
• Engineering/Technical background
• Manufacturing industry experience

This is working a Panama shift pattern (2,2,3) on a mix of days and nights

• Salary is up to £56,000, Pension, and excellent overtime and a clear progression inc MEWP, Confined space, FLT and further electrical/mechanical qualifications
