Job summary

Pitreavie Packaging is seeking a versatile Maintenance Engineer to keep our packaging operations running smoothly in Grayshill, Cumbernauld. Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with an NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineering role in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and IT proficiency.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisations.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery in line with health and safety regulations.

Maintenance Engineer – Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, Scotland

• Salary: Competitive, (negotiable on experience) + 30% shift premium on nights
• Shifts: Rotating days (07:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday) and nights (21:00 to 07:00, Monday to Thursday)
• Contract: Full-time, permanent
• Location: Grayshill, Cumbernauld

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment and machinery
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
• Supporting and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring the safe and effective operation of machinery in line with health and safety regulations
• Working with production and other departments to minimise downtime
• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards and regulatory requirements

What You'll Need

• Time-served engineer with a relevant NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• A good understanding of health & safety practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and excellent IT skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
