Job summary

ATA Recruitment Ltd is supporting a British manufacturer in Barnsley to recruit a Maintenance Engineer. You will keep specialist injection moulding and plastic extrusion machinery running safely and efficiently, with a Panama shift pattern working approximately half the year.

You can be mechanically or electrically biased, with a Level 3 engineering qualification and strong fault‑finding skills. Key duties include planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and improving machine

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Fault finding and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues.

• Responding to breakdowns and minimising production downtime.

• Identifying opportunities to improve machinery reliability and performance.

About the role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for keeping specialist manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

About you

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer who is either mechanically or electrically biased.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• If mechanically biased, the ability to work safely within a control panel and carry out electrical maintenance tasks independently.
• A logical, methodical and out-of-the-box approach to fault finding.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience within a particular manufacturing industry isn't essential. Engineers from a wide range of factory and manufacturing backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
