Job summary

Stirling Warrington Limited is seeking a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer for our Sheffield production facility. The role offers a £46,500 annual salary, with a rotating double-day pattern (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00) and no night shifts, in a stable, market-leading manufacturing environment.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment, diagnose faults, and contribute to reliability projects alongside an established engineering team.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing.
• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or apprenticeship).
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience.
• Experience with PPM schedules and maintenance systems.
• Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and associated machinery.
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment performance.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and engineering best practice.

Are you a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer looking for a well-paid role with a structured shift pattern and no night shifts?

We're recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, market-leading manufacturer at their Sheffield production facility.

The Role

Working as part of an established engineering team, you'll be responsible for keeping production machinery operating safely, efficiently and reliably.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Maintaining and repairing conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and associated machinery.
• Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement and machinery reliability projects.
• Collaborating with production teams to improve equipment performance.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and engineering best practice.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance role within manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, chemical processing or a similar industrial environment.
• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown experience.
• Experience with PPM schedules and maintenance systems.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
• Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.

Shift Pattern: Rotating Double Days

Early Shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm

Late Shift: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Monday to Friday

No night shifts
