Job summary

TipTopJob in Cambridge seeks a maintenance engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing site. You will support PPMs and reactive maintenance across production and packaging machinery, with electrical and mechanical fault finding, and involvement in new machinery installations and projects.

The role requires either an electrical or mechanical bias with fault-finding capability, time-served apprenticeship, Level 3 engineering, and PLC fault finding.

Qualifications

• Electrical fault finding capabilities are essential.
• Must have completed a time-served/apprenticeship.
• Level 3 or higher engineering qualification.
• Experience with fast-paced manufacturing, preferably FMCG.
• PLC electrical fault finding experience is required.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support planned preventive maintenance and reactive tasks across site production and packaging lines
• Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
• Install new machinery and participate in projects
• Work on conveyors, mixers, baggers, scanners and other packaging equipment
• Handle control panels, sensors and safety circuits
• Operate with minimal supervision and participate in call-out rota

Monday:Friday 8am:5pm + 1 in 3 Week Call Out Rota

GBP48,000 + Overtime

Our client is a leading food manufacturer that is part of a larger European Group. Due to an up and coming retirement, they are looking for a maintenance engineer, to join their close knit team.

Role And Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting PPMs and reactive maintenance across all site production and packaging machinery, site services and facilities
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
• New machinery installations, project work
• PLC : electrical fault finding
• Worked on conveyors, mixers, baggers, production lines, packaging machinery, elevators, metal detectors, stitchers, labellers, scanners
• Fixing motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, chains, sprockets, control panels, sensors, safety circuits, pumps, blowers, hydraulics

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

• Open to either electrical or mechanical biased engineers, but must have electrical fault finding capabilities
• Must be comfortable working in a small team, flexible to working a call out rota
• Ideally have completed a time:served:apprenticeship
• Level 3 qualified or higher in engineering
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding skills
• Must have previously have worked in fast:paced manufacturing, ideally food / FMCG
• PLC : electrical fault finding
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, and welding skills would be beneficial
• Must have worked with pneumatics and hydraulics
• Ideally have a varied career, comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
• 17th or 18th Edition
• Able to work unsupervised
