Electrical Engineer - Government Facility (Harrogate)

We are recruiting for a Resident Electrical Engineer to work on a government facility in the Harrogate area.

Position Details:

• Type: Permanent
• Salary: Up to £40,000 basic
• Hours: Mon-Fri, 40 hours/week, days
• Flexible start and finish times
• On-call: 1 in 4 (£150 standby + OT)
• Van supplied during on-call periods

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and general building services plant
• Electrical fault identification, maintenance, inspection, testing, and lamp replacement (including emergency lights)
• Safe installation and inspection of electrical equipment
• Compliance checks
• Maintain stocks of critical spares and related items
• Water hygiene tasks: treatment, sampling, testing, temperature recording (L8 compliance)
• Planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Small works projects
• Overlap with mechanical and fabric maintenance

Requirements:

• Recognised apprenticeship in electrical discipline (Level 3 or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Electrical Safety Certification
• Ideally 2391 Test and Inspection Certification
• Ideally AM2 Certification
• Good verbal, numerate, interpersonal, and computer skills
• Motivated, with initiative, flexibility, and a desire for continual skill development
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
• Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
