We are currently looking for an electrical bias Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our existing team to help us deliver our contractual obligations to our corporate clients. The successful candidates will have extensive experience in building services maintenance and a background working on corporate, client-facing buildings. The role requires on-site work during 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 17:00.

Role Purpose:

To carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on building plant, equipment, and systems in accordance with service levels, and respond to site engineering emergencies. Undertake minor installation works following client change management and statutory compliance protocols.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure routine maintenance of all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations and service agreements.
  2. Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
  3. Manage controls within the Permit to Work system.
  4. Maintain critical cooling water systems and domestic systems in compliance with L8 standards, updating logbooks accordingly.
  5. Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance of critical and non-critical plant.
  6. Keep comprehensive maintenance records, utilizing electronic or hard copy task sheets. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, or Nitro is required.
  7. Adhere to Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks, developing SOPs and EOPs as needed.
  8. Supervise subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual, Permit to Work, and site policies.
  9. Develop good working relationships with team members and clients' staff.
  10. Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, complying with all policies and procedures.
  11. Present a professional image of the company, ensuring excellent customer service.
  12. Support annual building shutdowns as required.
  13. Perform other duties reasonably associated with the role.

The engineer will operate and troubleshoot systems including:

  • Building Management Systems and electrical monitoring
  • Air handling, air conditioning, and terminal units (VAV and CRAC)
  • AV Control Systems
  • Fire prevention and detection systems
  • VESDA
  • Variable speed drives
  • Motors (AC, DC, single-phase, three-phase)
  • UPS systems, batteries, static switches, and controls
  • High and Low voltage switch panels and breakers
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or similar
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, or equivalent
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation (training available if only 17th Edition)
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 certification
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at all levels
  • Proactive approach to high standards of operation
  • Good IT and report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, remain calm, and deliver services within deadlines
