Job summary

Equans is recruiting a Maintenance Craftsperson for Barnet Hospital in London. The role is full-time and permanent, with participation in a 24-hour on-call rota.

You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe, compliant building services. The ideal candidate has experience in HVAC, gas, steam, medical gas and plant room systems, and is capable of supporting junior colleagues and on-site teams.

Qualifications

• Experienced in maintaining mechanical and electrical plant, equipment and building services.
• Skilled in planned maintenance, reactive repairs and breakdown response.
• Proficient with HVAC, gas, steam, medical gas and plant room systems.
• Able to complete PAT and support statutory testing in line with BS 7671.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintain HVAC, gas, steam, medical gas and plant room equipment.
• Carry out inspections, testing, repairs, refurbishment and minor new works.
• Work safely with colleagues, contractors and other trades while supporting junior team members.
