Quantum Care is a no-for-profit organisation providing care to over 2,000 older people across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. We value compassion, dignity, and high-quality service at Garden City Court, Letchworth.

We are seeking a reliable caretaker to carry out routine inspections, maintain indoor/outdoor areas, assist with moving furniture, and support overall home operations. A proactive, organised approach and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a caretaker, maintenance, facilities, or building services role.
• Ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Commitment to keeping environments safe, clean and well-presented.
• Good communication with residents, visitors and colleagues.
• Basic IT skills for reporting issues and recording records.
• Overseas Police Check / Certificate of Good Conduct may be required if applicable, plus Enhanced DBS check.

• Carrying out routine inspections of the Home and reporting maintenance needs to the Housekeeping Manager
• Cleaning outdoor areas such as footpaths, waste and parking zones, including snow and ice clearance
• Assisting with moving furniture, including tables and hospital beds
• Undertaking additional duties, as required, to support the smooth operation of the Home, as directed by the Home Manager or Housekeeping Manager
• Experience in a caretaker, maintenance, facilities, or building services role.

• Practical skills to carry out basic repairs, maintenance tasks, and general upkeep.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they become problems.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• A commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and well-presented environments.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional approach when interacting with residents, visitors, contractors, and colleagues.
• Basic IT skills for reporting maintenance issues and completing records.
• A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team as needed., An Overseas Police Check/ Certificate of Good Conduct may be required if you have lived or worked outside the UK for 12 Months or more, spent a significant period overseas, or worked abroad in a position of trust. This will be in addition to a mandatory Enhanced DBS check
