Job description

Here at the Mick George Group, we are currently recruiting a Maintenance Coordinator to join the Transport team.

Location: Mick George Head Office – Huntingdon

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, Saturdays as Required.

Pay: To be discussed at Interview, dependant on experience.

Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of all vehicle maintenance activities. You will play a critical role in ensuring our fleet – including owned and hired assets – is fully compliant with Operator License regulations, DVSA guidance, and company policies.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance Scheduling:

  • Plan and schedule all vehicle maintenance activities including:
  • Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
  • Brake tests
  • Services
  • Annual and voluntary tests
  • Tachograph calibrations
  • LOLER examinations (where applicable)

System Management:

  • Input all planned maintenance activities into the R2C online portal, Maintenance Planner Audit, and Maintenance Diary
  • Reschedule planned bookings when operational needs require adjustments

Compliance and Audit:

  • Conduct daily audits to ensure all maintenance and inspection schedules are correctly set and compliant
  • Manage the induction process for new HGVs and the decommissioning of removed assets

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and legal documentation to ensure audit readiness

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • 2+ years of successful experience in a similar maintenance coordination or fleet management role within a distribution or logistics environment
  • Strong practical knowledge of logistics, fleet management, and regulatory compliance
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation and DVSA standards
  • Experience working within a commercial, construction-orientated business (preferred)
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in using scheduling or fleet management systems (knowledge of R2C would be an advantage)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise confidently with suppliers and colleagues at all levels
