We're looking for a Maintenance Business Support professional to join our Assets Team on a part-time basis, supporting the delivery of property maintenance services across our housing portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to play a key role in ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and well maintained for our customers.
Working closely with a multi-disciplinary technical team, you'll provide essential business support across a range of asset management activities, including responsive repairs, disrepair cases, HHSRS hazards and empty properties. Working pattern:
This is a part-time position, working 22.2 hours per week across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The role is based between our St Helens and Warrington (Bank Park House) offices in line with business needs. Following a successful training period, there will be the opportunity to work from home one day per week, subject to business requirements.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide business support to a multi-disciplinary technical team, supporting areas including Disrepair, Responsive Repairs, HHSRS Hazards and Empty Properties.
- Help coordinate and monitor maintenance activities, supporting the delivery of surveys, inspections, works and task planning.
- Ensure maintenance and compliance activities are delivered in line with agreed targets, standards and service requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, audit trails and documentation, updating asset management, housing and financial systems as required.
- Review service records and maintenance information, ensuring data is accurate, complete and up to date.
- Monitor the progress of assigned tasks and provide proactive support to internal and external customers, helping to deliver a right first time service.
- Support the implementation of maintenance policies, processes and procedures across the Assets Team.
- Assist with the development of systems and processes that improve efficiency, assurance, continuous improvement and value for money.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, providing a professional and responsive service.
- Support the delivery of operational plans while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, risk management and health and safety requirements.
What we're looking for:
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent), or relevant experience.
- Experience providing business, administrative or compliance support in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and maintain accurate records.
- Confident using IT systems and databases to monitor activities and support compliance requirements.
- An understanding of compliance, governance and the importance of accurate record keeping.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a maintenance, construction or operational environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and value for money.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience within a housing, property maintenance, asset management or compliance environment would be beneficial.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview at our St Helens office on 6th October 2026. The interview will be competency-based, with questions focused on the skills, experience and behaviours required for the role. Candidates will also complete a practical exercise, which will be provided on the day.
