Job summary

Yorkshire Water is hiring a Maintenance Assurance Data Analyst in Bradford to join the Asset Management team. The role focuses on collating data from multiple sources to monitor and assure maintenance activity and to drive data‑driven decisions.

The role builds and maintains reports and dashboards, enabling near real-time insights into engineering performance. Hybrid working is available with some office days and future relocation plans.

Responsibilities

• Interrogate SAP S/4HANA to provide technical support and advice.
• Build and improve Power BI dashboards for multiple teams.

• Develop and present maintenance adherence reports from SAP S/4HANA.
• Compile and interpret Condition Monitoring data for predictions.
• Assemble data from logs, work orders, and sensor readings.
• Analyze data to identify failure patterns and downtime.
• Collaborate with teams to implement data-driven maintenance solutions.
• Provide training on data collection to Asset Delivery staff

Location: Buttershaw, Bradford. Hybrid working with usually 2 days a week, office based, pending move to Leeds Valley Park (LS10) from September 1st.

The Asset Management team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

This role is responsible for the collation and interpretation of data from numerous sources for the purpose of monitoring, interpreting and assuring the delivery of maintenance activity, to collate and provide information on demand for internal and external stakeholders and to help seek out opportunities to optimise the strategic planning and definition of maintenance activity.

This role will build upon, improve, develop and maintain reports and dashboards routinely and ad-hoc to aid stakeholders monitor and evaluate near real-time insights into engineering and maintenance performance. The role will be instrumental in embedding data driven decision making through the combination of flat data, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Where you fit in:

As our Maintenance Assurance Data Analyst, you will:

• Interrogate SAP S/4HANA to provide technical support and advice on the system to Engineering people leaders and continuous improvement specialists
• Build, develop, improve, simplify performance Power Bi dashboards both Engineering, Complex Maintenance and Engineering Design /Assurance teams
• Build and maintain semi-automated workflow management forms and reports
• Develop and present timely reports on maintenance adherence (from data taken from SAP S/4HANA) spanning various business units, asset groups, timeframes and engineering disciplines.
• Compile, analyse, and interpret Condition Monitoring sources to develop and present on accurate predictions.
• Gather and organize data from various sources, including maintenance logs, work orders, and sensor readings, to create comprehensive datasets.
• Analyse data to assist in identifying “bad actors” for equipment failures, downtime, and other maintenance-related issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement data-driven solutions to improve maintenance strategies, workflows, and resource allocation.
• Provide training and support to Asset Delivery personnel on data collection.

What skills & qualifications you’ll need:

• Essential to have competence in SAP S/4HANA for reporting and data analysis
• Essential to have competence using Power Bi
• Competent in data analytical platforms
• Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative and self-manage

You will also benefit from having:

• Experience of working withing an engineering, maintenance planning or maintenance delivery field
• Qualified to degree level (L6 or above) in a STEM / data analysis subject
• Experience of working within the water industry
• Understanding and application of Machine learning and / or Artificial intelligence
• Diligent and strong attention to detail
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to seek out information from a field of raw data, to interpret the information and provide intelligence to decision makers.
