Job summary

Randstad CPE in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join a leading national Facilities Management provider. The role covers planned, reactive and cyclical maintenance across the site, with on-call rota and seasonal duties.

You'll perform fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks, water hygiene tasks and general fabric repairs, while upholding safety standards and patient dignity. 40 hours weekly, temporary to permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Basic awareness of building fabric and general repairs.
• Familiarity with routine testing procedures (fire alarms, emergency lighting).

Responsibilities

Randstad C&P are working with a leading national Facilities Management provider who are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join their team in Liverpool.

The Package:

• Competitive salary £28,000 - £32,000 per annum


• Temporary to permanent opportunity


• Full-time - 40 hours per week

Key Duties:

• Carry out planned, reactive, and cyclical maintenance tasks, fabric repairs, and semi-skilled handyperson work across the site to agreed service standards.


• Perform routine compliance testing, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, and maintaining accurate records in site logbooks.


• Support the building water hygiene maintenance regime in accordance with the site water safety logbook and regulatory standards.


• Carry out all duties respectfully and safely, upholding patient dignity, privacy, and infection control standards across the facility.


• Maintain safe working practices in line with Health and Safety, COSHH, and waste disposal regulations, while ensuring all tools and plant are routinely inspected.


• Participate in an on-call rota to ensure out-of-hours coverage, and assist with seasonal duties such as gritting and snow clearing during severe weather.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Basic awareness of building fabric, minor carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs.


• Awareness of routine testing procedures (e.g., fire alarm activations, basic emergency lighting).


• Familiarity with basic electrical/mechanical plant and tools.


• Methodical approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure.


• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
