Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Assistant for a leading national Facilities Management provider in Liverpool. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a salary of £28,000 to £32,000, and a temporary to permanent opportunity.

You will carry out maintenance tasks, testing, water hygiene, and ensure safety and infection control, with on-call and seasonal duties such as gritting.

Qualifications

• Basic awareness of building fabric and routine repairs.
• Experience with carpentry, plumbing, or general repairs.
• Familiarity with basic electrical/mechanical plant and tools.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, reactive, and cyclical maintenance tasks across the site to agreed service standards.
• Perform routine compliance testing (fire alarm, emergency lighting) and keep site logbooks.
• Support water hygiene maintenance per logbook and regulatory standards.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and dignity for patients.
• Adhere to Health and Safety, COSHH, and waste disposal regs; inspect tools and plant.
• Participate in on-call rota and assist with seasonal duties like gritting.

Randstad C&P are working with a leading national Facilities Management provider who are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join their team in Liverpool.

The Package:

• Competitive salary £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
• Temporary to permanent opportunity

Key Duties:

Carry out planned, reactive, and cyclical maintenance tasks, fabric repairs, and semi-skilled handyperson work across the site to agreed service standards

.

Perform routine compliance testing, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, and maintaining accurate records in site logbooks

.

Support the building water hygiene maintenance regime in accordance with the site water safety logbook and regulatory standards

.

Carry out all duties respectfully and safely, upholding patient dignity, privacy, and infection control standards across the facility

.

Maintain safe working practices in line with Health and Safety, COSHH, and waste disposal regulations, while ensuring all tools and plant are routinely inspected

.

Participate in an on-call rota to ensure out-of-hours coverage, and assist with seasonal duties such as gritting and snow clearing during severe weather

.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Basic awareness of building fabric, minor carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs

.

Awareness of routine testing procedures (e.g., fire alarm activations, basic emergency lighting)

.

Familiarity with basic electrical/mechanical plant and tools

.

Methodical approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure

.

Clear written and verbal communication skills
