Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join a growing company dedicated to technical excellence and proactive maintenance. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality FM services across campus sites and maintaining essential systems.

You will perform PPM tasks, manage CAFM work orders, and oversee subcontractors while ensuring health and safety compliance. On-call duties offer additional pay and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in FM or building services (multi-skilled preferred).
• Electrical qualifications are essential.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with the scheduled programme.
• Ensure full compliance with KPIs, Health & Safety legislation, and site-specific requirements.
• Identify and action remedial work from PPMs, by self-delivery or by coordinating contractors.
• Utilise the CAFM system to manage all work orders and update the asset database accurately.
• Maintain client portals with all relevant documentation and updates.
• Deliver high-quality, reactive maintenance services across FM disciplines.
• Provide cover support across campus sites during holidays, sickness, or vacancies.
• Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 3 weeks minimum) - extra pay for on-call.
• Conduct regular visual inspections of plant, equipment, and building fabric to identify faults and suggest solutions.
• Escalate non-repairable faults promptly and provide accurate reporting.
• Manage subcontractors on-site, ensuring RAMS, site rules, and safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain regular communication, providing updates on works, audits, and compliance.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of the site's systems and FM needs.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and report incidents or near misses.
• Support minor project works, including small installations and alterations.

• Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 3 weeks minimum) - additional pay for extra on-call cover
• Conduct regular visual inspections of plant, equipment, and building fabric to identify faults and suggest solutions

Experience

• Proven experience in an FM or building services role (multi-skilled preferred)
• Electrical qualifications - essential

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Good knowledge of CAFM systems and reporting
• Able to manage time effectively and remain calm under pressure
