Job summary

Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts family, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Manchester. You will support the maintenance team to keep the hotel safe, functioning, and guest-centric on a mix of shifts with 40 hours per week.

The role requires prior maintenance experience in a hotel setting, strong health and safety knowledge, and a collaborative, service-minded attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel maintenance environment is preferred.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative hotel team.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance team to keep the hotel safe and functional.
• Fix problems as they arise and anticipate issues before they occur.

What do you need to be a Maintenance Assistant?

Well, your main duties and responsibilities will be supporting our Maintenance team to work behind the scenes and ensure that our Hotel is a safe environment for guests and team members, working on ad hoc-jobs and communicating with the wider Hotel teams to fix problems when they arise (and predicting them before they do!). As a historic listed building, our Hotel offers a variety of unique challenges that keep every day interesting and rewarding.

So, We Are Looking For Someone Who Has…

• Availability to work 40 hours (a mix of shifts start times from 8:00am to 12:00pm and finish times between 4:30pm to 8:30pm)
• Experience working as a Maintenance assistant, Plumber, Electrician or Painter/Decorator within a Hotel environment
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and passionate about ensuring a safe working environment
• Willing to learn new things and work as part of our wider Hotel team!
• Drive to produce results – we work together within the Kimpton family to continue delivering extremely personal experiences and genuine human connection.
