Maintenance Assistant

Compensation: £13.45 / hour

Description

As part of our dedicated and compassionate team, you’ll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. While this isn’t a direct care role, your work makes a real difference to the wellbeing of our residents and staff – creating a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for everyone. This role is to cover 2 sites:

• Lansdowne Road 67 - 71 Lansdowne Road Aylestone Leicester LE2 8AS (30 hours)
• Mar Lodge 26 Nottingham Road Melton Mowbray Leicestershire LE13 0NP (10 hours)

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

What you’ll be doing:

• Every day will be varied, drawing on your multi-skills to:
• Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks.
• Keep our sites safe, well-presented, and welcoming.
• Tackle jobs from painting, decorating, and wallpapering through to plumbing (fixing leaks, changing taps) and putting up furniture.
• Spot and report any issues that need attention and take action to put things right.
• Work alongside a supportive team to make sure everything meets quality and safety

What you'll bring to the role

• Practical, hands-on, and confident with general DIY.
• Skilled across a mix of areas such as painting, decorating, carpentry, plumbing, or general repairs.

• Friendly, approachable, and motivated by making a positive difference.
