Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Harrogate is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to effectively manage external contractors and oversee facilities services at our hospital. The role covers planned preventative maintenance, safety, and compliance within two acute wards of the emergency admissions service.

You will work Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (38.5 hours/week) with opportunities for progression. DBS clearance will be required to join our team, and a full driving licence is preferred for site travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing facilities and services.
• Willing to travel and hold a full valid driving licence.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and record detailed maintenance information.
• Experience in leading and managing teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee external contractors for hard and soft FM services at the hospital.
• Support Hospital Manager with statutory returns and risk assessments.
• Prepare briefs and specifications for works and training.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and welfare regulations and budgets.
• Assist in emergency planning and major incident coordination.
• Monitor budgets and implement efficient systems.

Effectively manage the performance of the external contractors providing hard and soft facilities management services (Including Planned preventative maintenance, small works & capital projects, security, pest control, grounds and garden maintenance, window cleaning, waste management) to Cygnet Hospital Harrogate. To support the Hospital Manager with collation of information for all statutory returns such as Controls assurance standards and H&S risk assessment audits. Prepare briefs, specification of works, environmental reports and local operation al manuals to ensure adequate training for stakeholders in the operation of the building. Ensure compliance with the Companys legal duties under Construction & Design Management Act 1994, Fire precautions Act, Health and Safety at work act, RIDDOR, COSHH, Water regulations, Workplaces (health and safety and welfare) regulations 1992, Control of asbestos regulations, Electricity at work, Lifts and other The post holder will support the Hospital manger in his/ her role as lead Emergency planning liaison officer in the development and co-ordination of all aspects of major incident and emergency planning for the Hospital. The post holder will also facilitate and support the Companys response to major incidents and emergencies. Ensure that the facilities function is managed within agreed delegated budgets, ensuring efficient and effective systems and procedures to enable close monitoring.You are...
