Job summary

Cygnet Elowen Hospital in Derbyshire is seeking a Maintenance Assistant/Operative to join the team. You will provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service, performing basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work to keep facilities safe and welcoming.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours with a fixed pattern and no weekend work. You may travel to other sites and occasionally be on call; a full driving licence is required and an enhanced DBS check will be

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating for indoor and outdoor environments.
• Full valid driving licence is required.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and record maintenance information clearly.
• Basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building skills.
• DBS check will be required for successful candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service for the hospital.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain plant, services and vehicles in working order and report faults.
• Check fire alarm points weekly and ensure fire safety compliance.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs when needed.
