Job summary

Cygnet is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Redmarley site in the UK. You’ll deliver a comprehensive maintenance and repair service, covering painting, joinery, plumbing and general building tasks to keep living environments safe and comfortable for residents.

You’ll travel between sites, be on call for emergencies, and perform routine checks such as fire safety gear. The role offers 40 hours per week, 8am to 4pm, with DBS clearance required.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating indoors and outdoors.
• Full valid driving licence.
• Record detailed, accurate maintenance information.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service.
• Carry out painting, basic joinery, plumbing and general building work.
• Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order.
• Comply with safe working practices & report faults or hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits and emergency lights.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistantwith a passion for making a difference to others.

You'll be working40 hours per week, 08:00am to 16:00pm, at Redmarley, helping provide a safe and healthy environment for the people in our care.

Redmarley is a specialist residential service with nursing, designed to support people with mental health conditions and other complex needs. Our nurse-led team provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic home environment. We empower people to achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

Your day-to-day...

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance & repair service
• Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work
• Maintain plant, services & vehicles in working order
• Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment & potential hazards
• Travel to other sites & on occasions be on call to carry out emergency repairs outside of normal working hours
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights

You are...

• Experienced in all types of painting and decorating in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Willing to travel & hold a full valid driving licence
• Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information
• Skilled at DIY & general maintenance
• Preferably Level 2 Diploma qualified in Painting & Decorating/Maintenance
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
