Red Carnation Hotels Ltd. is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel in London’s Mayfair district. This full-time role offers shift work (5 days on, 2 off) and a salary of £25,397 per annum plus a service charge.

You will respond to repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and help keep our boutique hotel looking and functioning at the highest standard. Ideal candidates have prior maintenance engineer or handyman experience, broad trades knowledge, and strong

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer or Handyperson role, preferably in a hotel.
• Broad knowledge of basic trades including plumbing, electrical, painting, and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly and efficiently to all repair and maintenance issues throughout the hotel.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation of hotel facilities.
• Undertake painting and touch-up work across public areas and back-of-house spaces.
• Maintain and organise tools, materials, and equipment related to maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with all departments to minimise disruption and respond to maintenance requests promptly.
• Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general handyman duties as required.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and fire regulations.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and assist in maintaining service logs.
