Job summary

South Lodge, a part of Exclusive Hotels and Venues, is seeking a maintenance professional to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract at Horsham. You will help ensure all hotel facilities are safe, well maintained, and fully operational for guests and staff.

In this role you will perform preventative and general maintenance, respond to emergencies, and work with the wider teams to maintain high standards while complying with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and understanding of general maintenance including plumbing and electrical skills.
• Basic computer skills including sending emails, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Punctual and excellent time keeping.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety, risk assessments and related practices.
• A basic understanding of Fire safety; holding a valid UK driving licence; First aid certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and general (seasonal) maintenance to keep the buildings well looked after (painting, gutters, door-oiling, locks, etc.).
• Respond to emergency maintenance to minimise disruption and damage to the hotel and guests.
• Collaborate with the wider Maintenance and Hotel teams, maintaining professional conduct and communication.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and recognise site hazards as required.
• Uphold Exclusive Collection values and present a professional image at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and general (seasonal) maintenance in order to ensure the buildings are well looked after i.e. painting, gutters, door-oiling, locks etc.
• Perform emergency maintenance responding appropriately to the situation to ensure minimum disruption/damage to the hotel / guests (i.e. water leaks, lack of water pressure, toilets blocked, taps not working, showers not working etc).
• To work as part of the wider Maintenance and Hotel teams ensuring professional conduct and communication at all times.
• To be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Act as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your work place.
• Display a professional image of Exclusive Collection by delivering the company values and demonstrating the courtesy standards and non negotiables at all times.
