Job summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the maintenance team. You will handle reactive, day-to-day maintenance on-site and in the grounds, and liaise with contractors. You may also support other community homes and respond to ad-hoc requests from management.

Applicants should have maintenance experience and a practical DIY mindset. COSHH and health and safety knowledge are required, with training provided.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a maintenance position.
  • A good knowledge of COSHH and health and safety in the workplace, however training will be provided.
  • You will be organised, adaptable and thorough in your approach to work.
  • Ideally, you will have experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry or plastering.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance on-site and in the grounds.
  • Liaise with contractors when on site.
  • Support other homes in the community where required.
  • Attend to ad-hoc requests from management as necessary.

Job description

Sedgemoor Manor School are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team. We are looking for a passionate handyperson and an enthusiastic DIYer, who will carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance issues within the site and their grounds. You will also assist in supporting our other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as and when necessary.

  • Previous experience in a maintenance position
  • A good knowledge of COSHH and health and safety in the workplace, however training will be provided
  • You will be organised, adaptable and thorough in your approach to work
  • Ideally, you will have experience in some of the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering (qualifications are not essential).
