Job description

We are looking to support our client based in South Wirral with a requirement for a Print / Mail Room Operative.

This will begin on a temporary contract basis and whilst it is expected that this will be made permanent after a 12 week review period, this will be subject to performance levels and work requirements - so is most likely only suitable for someone out of work at the present time.

The client specialises in supporting other companies with visually impaired employees by providing specialist audio and visual materials. The work is orientated to ensuring these materials are processed and sent out correctly and on schedule. Training on their particular systems will be provided and candidates should otherwise possess good accuracy, attention to detail, a good worth ethic, and willingness to work within a team. Hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm and 5pm on a Friday (totalling 37 hours per week).

This is an opportunity to work for a Social Enterprise that helps the local community whilst contributing to a friendly team environment. The role pays £13.45 an hour (plus holiday pay) with a permanent role available after successful completion of the temporary period. Upon successful completion of temporary period benefits include profit share, healthcare cash plan, full pay sick pay, early finish on a Friday and the opportunity to help the local community. No previous experience is necessary - just reliability, worth ethic and willingness to work as part of a growing team providing alternative format solutions to household names in Finance, Telecommunications and Utilities.

  • Assist in general maintenance of the Braille printing equipment.
  • Ensure all docket books are completed correctly and left in designated place before the post collection.
  • Ensure that Royal Mail representative signs and takes docket sheets.
  • Ensure all information is collated for invoicing purposes, e.g. postage records. These must be accurate and produced within agreed timescale before submitting to relevant parties.
  • Work within all relevant health and safety procedures/guidelines.
  • Report any breakdowns, errors, or issues to the Print Room Supervisor as soon as they occur.
  • Assist in other areas of the operations department as required.
