Job summary

Craft Form Engineering Limited in Sheffield invites applications for a Machine Shop Apprentice (Apprenticeship Level 2). Start your engineering career with on-site training and real hands-on experience under skilled engineers at Craft Form’s Sheffield site.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate manual lathes, milling and drilling machines as required
  • Programme set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines as required
  • Accurately follow job cards and update accordingly
  • Understand and read engineering drawings/symbols
  • Operate overhead crane as required (once trained)
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts
  • Work to quality standards required for the components and to maintain the ISO accreditation
  • Cut materials from stock bar maintaining material identity at all times
  • Undertake final inspections of finished components
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area for colleagues and yourself
  • When trained, ensure job timings are met/exceeded

Want hands-on experience, real skills, and the chance to learn from trained engineers who genuinely invest in your future? Craft Form Engineering is looking for a motivated individual to join their highly skilled team at their Sheffield site as a Machine Shop Apprentice.

Your training and responsibilities as a Machine Shop Apprentice, will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Set and operate manual lathes, milling and drilling machines as required
  • Programme set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines as required
  • Accurately follow job cards and update accordingly
  • Understand and read engineering drawings/symbols
  • Operate overhead crane as required (once trained)
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts
  • Work to quality standards required for the components and to maintain the ISO accreditation

About The Training

The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group at one of their campuses on a day release format, giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful Engineer.

About The Employer

Established in 2015, Craft Form are specialist engineers able to work with ferrous and non-ferrous, as well as Stainless Steel metals to produce fabrications, repairs, or the execution of specialist bespoke projects. They operate a team of fully trained and qualified technical welding staff, many with specialist knowledge and many years of experience between them. Based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, they have undertaken projects for many industrial applications and establishments, including Ministry of Defence work.
