Job summary

Dio-Met Fabrications Ltd is offering a Production Apprenticeship at their Sheffield site, with hands-on engineering experience and mentoring from skilled engineers. You’ll learn to weld, fabricate, read drawings, and support production while gaining a recognised Level 2 qualification.

Based at Dio-Met, you’ll be supported by RNN Group and an employer committed to developing long-term manufacturing careers through on-site training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn on-the-job in an engineering environment.
• Interest in welding, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Commitment to completing Level 2 apprenticeship training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out welding activities including MIG welding and other machinery.
• Create fabrications such as balustrades, staircases and handrails.
• Follow job cards and update records accurately.
• Read engineering drawings and symbols.
• Ensure correct marking up of component parts.
• Weld joints according to quality requirements.
• Undertake final inspections of finished components.
• Assist with warehousing duties and packaging.
• Maintain a clean, productive work area and meet timings.

About The Role

Want hands‑on experience, real skills, and the chance to learn from trained professionals who genuinely invest in your future? Dio-Met is looking for a motivated individual to join their highly skilled team at their Sheffield site as a Production Apprentice.

Your training and responsibilities as a Production Apprentice, will include (but not be limited to) the following:

• Carry out welding activities including use of a MIG welder, and other ancillary machinery and equipment
• Creating fabrications, such as metal balustrades, staircases and handrails
• Accurately follow job cards and update accordingly
• Understand and read engineering drawings/symbols
• Ensure correct marking up of component parts
• Work to quality standards required for the components
• Weld joints in accordance with quality requirements
• Undertake final inspections of finished components/products
• Assisting with warehousing duties and packaging goods
• Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area for colleagues and yourself
• When trained, ensure job timings are met/exceeded

About The Training

The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group at one of their campuses on a day release format, giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful Engineer.
